Appropriated from my back catalogue of staged pornographic scenes when I worked in the adult entertainment industry, Resurrection is an incarnation, a synthesis of 21 images, which were initially intended to arouse sexual desire in a ‘public arena’. My objective was to negate the ‘pornographic images’ per-se by their Resurrection into an artistic field. This single image sits, framed, in an ambiguous abstract veil obscuring immediate recognition inviting an investigation into social ‘moral’ coding. I designed the work to incite, like the pornographic photograph, an arousal of frustrated energy.

Resurrection is part of my on-going artistic process of expression through the motifs of sexual elements and imagination that Mother Nature has inscribed in us.
